Product description

Reinforced adhesive tape is used during the installation of infrared heating film - to cover the areas of wires and terminals. The PE fabric base and synthetic rubber adhesive adhere well to the foam or XPS underlay, so the connection remains in place even when laying the floor covering.

Where is the tape used when installing the film?

The heating film wires and terminals are thicker than the film itself, so they cannot remain on the laid surface - otherwise the floor covering would lie unevenly. Installation process:

  1. Channels are cut in the decking at the locations of the terminals and wires.
  2. The terminals are clamped and insulated, and the wires are inserted into the channels.
  3. Channels are sealed with this tape - it fixes the cable in the channel and smoothes the surface before laying the coating.

The thickness of the tape is 0.14 mm, so it practically does not change the floor level.

What is the difference from butyl insulating tape?

These are two different products, used one after the other, not instead of each other:

  • Butyl insulating tape – insulates the terminal itself and the end of the wire. This is an electrical safety layer.
  • This reinforced tape covers and fixes the already insulated joint in the channel cut in the deck. It is a mechanical layer.

Butyl tape does not have the same adhesion to foam, and reinforced tape does not perform the function of insulation. Both are required for a complete installation.

What else is needed for installing heating film?

The colours, shades or textures of the actual item may vary slightly from those shown in the photographs due to different screen settings, lighting or other technical nuances. There may also be minimal changes in dimensions or design due to the manufacturing process. By purchasing the product, the buyer accepts these possible differences. Thank you for your understanding.
