Aluminum foil heating mat under laminate CATE-80, 80 W/m²

The CATE-80 aluminum foil heating mat is designed for those cases when you want to install floor heating under laminate or parquet, and there is no adhesive layer and will not be. The mat is laid dry: on the subfloor, directly under the floor covering - no mortar, no drying time. Therefore, it is suitable not only for new construction, but also for renovations, when the floor height is limited.

Aluminum foil distributes heat evenly across the entire area of ​​the mat, so the surface heats up evenly, without noticeable warm and cold bands.

When to choose CATE-80

Suitable for:

• for laminate, parquet and parquet boards;
• for dry rooms – living room, kitchen, children's rooms and bedrooms;
• for renovations when the floor cannot be raised – the mat is only 3 mm thick;

Not suitable:

• for bathrooms and other wet rooms;
• for installation in tile adhesive – intended for this purpose 100 W/m² and 150 W/m² rugs.

 

Thanks to the 80 W/m² power

80 W/m² is the comfort heating power. In a well-insulated house (energy efficiency class A or higher), it is sufficient as the main heating system. In older or poorly insulated homes, CATE-80 is worth using as additional heating to the existing system - to keep the floors warm, and not to heat the entire house with it alone.

What else will you need to buy?

• Thermostat with floor sensor – necessary. The floor sensor protects the laminate or parquet from overheating.
• Underlayment under laminate and parquet – placed under the mat. Retains heat to prevent heating of the concrete base.
• Mounting box – to install the thermostat in the wall.

Important about the temperature of the floor covering

The mat can withstand up to +70 °C, but laminate and parquet manufacturers usually indicate that the floor surface temperature should not exceed 27 °C. Set this limit on the thermostat via the floor sensor – the exact value can be found in your flooring documentation. This is the most important installation point: an overheated flooring may peel off, and the warranty does not apply in such cases.

Installation

The mat is laid on the subfloor without cutting the heating cable. The mat is 50 cm wide, the mesh can be cut between the cable loops and the mat can be rotated to fit the shape of the room – Cutting the cable itself is prohibited..

Minimum laying temperature +5 °C. Connection cable 3 m. Installation work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
